All of this stress talk is stressing me out! How can I stop the cycle?

There are ways to focus on factors in your life within your control such as modifying your thought processes, learning coping and relaxation skills, improve the depth of your relationships, improve your nutrition, and increase your physical activity. These release the "feel good" hormones.

Here are six things you can do RIGHT NOW to help your body relax:

  1. Take 10 deep breaths, counting each in and out breath

  2. Smile or Laugh — fake it if you have to, even anticipating a laugh can release these "feel good" hormones

  3. Play a happy song, or a song that makes you happy

  4. Stretch your arms above your head and hold for ten seconds, twist and stretch to each side and hold for ten seconds

  5. Go for a brief walk

  6. Give someone a hug
