We explored Canyonlands National Park along with Bear Tree National Monument, Dead Horse Point on a 4x4 tour. What a way to see this park!

4x4 Tour

For a great way to see a big part in a short time, consider a 4x4 tour.  The steep and rocky terrain challenged the 4 wheel drive on the landrover up and down teh roads in the park.  The road is narrow and thrilling at times.  Highlights include Dead Horse Point, Big Chief, and Musselman Arch, an arch that measures five feet thick, six feet wide, 187 feet long, and 300 feet down.

Gooseneck Overlook

There are great views at the Gooseneck overlook of the Colorado River. This may look familiar, it's where they filmed the final scene for Thelma and Louise.

  • You won't get this kind of tour without 4 wheel drive and high ground clearance, but we did see a few families biking, so if you are up for that you will find many miles of trails through this beautiful park.
